Frustratingly little is known of Margaret Duncan, a Liverpudlian artist who taught art at a girls' independent boarding school, Huyton College, in Liverpool. Some satirical drawings from the artist’s estate including the present work were included in Liss Llewellyn’s catalogue, ‘Women Only: Works on Paper’, in 2021.
